The action returned to the Geraldton Croquet Club as the club hosted its Bunter Golden Mallet Handicap Doubles matches at the weekend.

The mixed tournament saw eight pairs battle it out in the golf version of the sport as competitors raced to get through the hoops.

A competitive group of participants including several new players pushing those more experienced in the game.

Bob Imray and Doug Lee were the winners with six match wins out of seven, their only loss coming to the pair of Charley and Jan MacSween in game four who finished runners-up with five wins.

It was a tight match in their opener, managing to win with a score of 4-2 before imposing themselves on the competition on the other side of their game four loss.

It was a tie for third place with the experienced pair of Paul Christmass and Rhonda Reynolds tied with Maureen Nanson and Steve Robb, both on four wins and plus three on net hoops.
