Inaugural Chapman Valley Rodeo a sure-fire success for experienced cowboys

Chapman Valley is the next hotspot for a bucking good time as experienced organisers Double Barrel Entertainment gear up to host the inaugural Chapman Valley Rodeo. Saturday will see cowboys and cowgirls from across the country come to the Valley to participate in the “full points” rodeo, helping competing professionals earn precious points to rank them on the national score board. Double Barrel Entertainment director Mark Kestel is an experienced cowboy and has sat on both sides of the fence as a spectator and participant. “We were looking to expand the sport and take it to the broader community, and there was definite interest in the Chapman Valley,” he said. Mr Kestel and his wife Jo met rodeoing in the 1990s, and started running the Boyup Brook Rodeo in 2017. The pair is ready to bring the heat to the Mid West, featuring bull riding, broncos, and key hole events. The bar opens from 11am, and closes at midnight with camping passes available for those wanting to stay the night. The event is expecting between 4000 and 5000 attendants, with gates opening from 8am, the main events will begin from 3pm once the AFL grand final is over.
