A Geraldton man previously charged with inciting violence against officials, including Premier Mark McGowan, has had his case dropped by State prosecutors. Wayne Kenneth Glew had been charged with inciting another person to commit an indictable offence after allegedly releasing videos on social media where he called on others to arrest government ministers and public officials, including Mr McGowan. Mr Glew had been arrested in February 2022, and pleaded not guilty to the charge in December. A large group of supporters of Mr Glew — a self-proclaimed “constitutional expert” — could be seen outside Geraldton’s courthouse during his numerous appearances throughout 2022 and 2023. At a hearing on April 5, the charge against Mr Glew was formally discontinued. According to the Department of Public Prosecutions it was “determined that it was not in the public interest to proceed with the prosecution”.
