Invitation to two-day excursion
Growers, Agricultural consultants, and other interested people are invited to join a two-day tour to see the latest soil management research conducted in the northern agricultural region.
Department soil development officer Jenni Clausen said the tour would provide an excellent opportunity to see research activities first hand and talk to experts and landholders about endeavours to overcome production constraints.
She said participants could join either or both days of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development’s annual Soil Constraints Tour on August 6 and 7, departing each morning from Geraldton.
“Each tour will include visits to department research trials, which have co-investment by the Grains Research and Development Corporation, and farmers’ properties where soil amelioration strategies have been undertaken,” she said.
More information on the program, locations, costs and how to register is available from agric.wa.gov.au by searching for “soils tour”.
Registrations close July 31.
