A Geraldton burglar who touched an eight-year-old girl and whispered to her during a 2022 break-in is expected to be sentenced next month after pleading guilty to an unrelated trespassing charge. Jamie Phillip Mongoo broke into a Strathalbyn home on June 2, where he woke an eight-year-old girl and whispered to her. Mongoo pleaded guilty to charges of common assault, trespassing and home burglary for the incident on August 15, two of 24 charges he has been convicted of. On April 3 this year, Mongoo pleaded guilty to a charge of trespassing in Spalding, clearing the way for him to be sentenced at his next court appearance on May 22. Magistrate Angus Hockton said it was “inevitable” that he would be given an immediate term of imprisonment.
