While the senior competition waits in earnest for Saturday to come around the junior hockey season wrapped up on Wednesday night.

There was great team spirit and some outstanding individual performances on display. In the boys 10/12 finals Rovers completed the perfect season to down the Australs-Saints 5-1.

Having not lost a game all season they did not slip on the big stage led by an incredible performance from Mac Hoefhamer, who scored four goals and was duly awarded MVP for the match.

Braydon Keitzmann was the other goal scorer for Rovers as Lucas Ronan scored the only goal for Australs-Saints.

In the girls 10/12 finals Murchison claimed the title in an enthralling battle with Cardinals 3-1.

There was nothing to separate the teams throughout the regular season, but Alyssa Piper stepped up with two goals as the State representative showed her close with an MVP performance.

Nitarsha Finch got the other goal for Murchison while Amelia Jensen got Cardinals on the scoreboard.

The boys 7/9 saw the underdog Saints edge out the Australs in a tight battle 3-2.

Jackson Burns, Taj Teakle and Mitchell Ronan bettered the efforts of Nate Mackay and Tom Sorgiovanni to give the Saints the win as Burns took home MVP.

An incredible 11 goals were scored across the girls 7/9 finals as the Saints/Swans won a thrilling match 6-5 over Yacht Club.

The sides could not be separated with each side able to find a response to the other, but Evee Watters proved the difference with two goals and MVP.

Molly McCuish also got a double for Saints/Swans with singles to Sophie Kirkpatrick and Teah Foster.

For Yacht Club Alice Hunt, Grace Clarke, Sarah Buswell, Naomi Hunt and Geneva Johansen all found the goals but it must was not quite enough on the night.

The junior men’s and women’s All-stars teams were also named on the night with congratulations to all those who were nominated.
