Keanu Rhys Narrier: Bail refused after telling Geraldton police he would ‘kill’ partner

A Geraldton man who allegedly told police officers he would kill his partner by ramming a car into her house after he was arrested over accusations he assaulted her has been refused bail. Keanu Rhys Narrier, 22, appeared in Geraldton Magistrates Court from custody on Thursday after he was arrested following an alleged domestic violence incident in Rangeway on Wednesday. He was charged with aggravated common assault and criminal damage, and pleaded not guilty. Police prosecutor Sen. Const. Thomas Potts said five children were present when Mr Narrier allegedly pushed his partner, which caused her to fall over a baby rocker. When she was on the ground, police say he grabbed hold of her shirt with one hand and raised a fist in the air. Sen. Const. Potts said the eldest child raced over to help and a physical altercation occurred. The court was told Mr Narrier was arrested and taken to hospital by police, when he allegedly told officers “I’ll do more than GBH her, I’ll kill her”. Police claim He also said he would ram a car into her house, and made threats there would be a “big family fight” when he was released from custody. Mr Narrier’s defence lawyer said he was “mobbed” by a group of five people inside the house and he was protecting himself. Magistrate Matthew Walton said he was concerned about the safety of the alleged victim and the wider community, given his “egregious” comments to police. “I am going to put this in the category of absolute nonsense . . .
