Tarcoola Park Tennis Club is offering a chance for parents to play tennis with their children this Sunday to get more families involved in the game.

The club will host what it says is one of the biggest tennis days in the Mid West with the Sun City Tennis Academy Open Day.

Jarron Kretschmann said it had introduced a junior category and activities for kids in the hope families will pick up a racquet together.

“This is the 11th year in a row that we’ve run the day,” he said.

“We plan on being there for another decade.

“It’s always been one of the biggest days on the Mid West calendar, if not the biggest.

“We want to encourage the new generation of kids of any standard to play.”

Junior doubles teams at the open day can be mixed and parents will be able to play with their children.

The day will feature men’s and women’s doubles as well as a bouncy castle and water slide.

Tarcoola Park is also offering tennis for high school students from Year 7 and up on Wednesday afternoons.

The club’s premier league competition was scheduled to finish on Thursday night.

Spalding Park Tennis Club held its open day in November.

Nominations for the Tarcoola Park open day are due in by tomorrow.
