Police are seeking help to piece together what happened when a Geraldton man was killed on the Brand Highway at the weekend.

Kyle Jones, 28, was driving a Toyota Avalon north on Brand Highway near the Greenough River Road about 5.35pm on Saturday when his car collided on a bend with a Kenworth truck travelling south.

He died at the scene while the 58-year-old truck driver suffered minor injuries.

Geraldton Police officer-in-charge Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Martin said while the investigation by police and the major crash unit was ongoing, the car appeared to have driven “in a deliberate manner” into the truck.

Police ask anyone who was driving in the area at the time who has dash camera footage to come forward.

Mr Jones mother Tracey took to Facebook the day after the crash to express her grief.

“Last night we lost a much loved son, brother and brother in law,” she wrote.

“We hope you find the happiness you were always looking for mate.”
