Ugle Fabrications La Fiamma were denied the opportunity to finish the season on a high, with rival Forrestfield forfeiting their final matches.

Cracovia sealed second place and promotion from amateur football division three with a 2-1 defeat of Kalamunda on Thursday night, the result snuffing out Forrestfield’s chance of promotion.

With nothing but pride on the line for both sides, Forrestfield decided against making the trip up to Geraldton, gifting the three points to the Reds.

There were multiple forfeits across the league and reserves due to a combination of positions being decided and clashes with the AFL grand final.

While the decision to forfeit the league match was rumoured, Forrestfield still had a chance to win the title in the Reserves competition going in on level points with Perth AFC.

However, they too forfeited gifting the title to Perth AFC who won their reserve clash by forfeit over Noranda in what was a farcical end to 22 rounds of action.

The three points mean the Reds finished the season on 39 points, notwithstanding the possible two points from the investigation into their Sutherlands clash, to make it one of their best seasons on record.

It is a huge turnaround from last season when they finished with just three wins and 13 points and will provide much to build on as the Reds look to work their way up the leagues over the coming years.

Eyes are already on next season with pre-season friendlies being organised but first attention will turn to the club’s wind-up on October 22.
