Round 13 puts us at just over halfway point of the season as La Fiamma prepare to take on Woodvale FC at home on Saturday night.

Two losses in the past two weeks have put them behind the eight ball in regard to promotion aspirations as they now sit two games out of second place.

They face the bottom-placed Woodvale FC this week which should be an easier assignment for the Reds after facing top six sides in the past three weeks.

But Woodvale are coming off a stunning upset win over second-placed Baldivis in which they scored four goals in one game after only scoring nine in total for the season up top that point.

The last time these sides met it was a scoreless draw, the only other time Woodvale have scored points this season.

On their promotion hopes the Reds have one thing on their side which is time — there is still plenty of football to be played and potential points to be had.

But Perth is clearing out at the top resulting in six teams battling out for the only other promotion spot.

La Fiamma know they cannot afford anymore slip-ups, especially at home against teams they should be putting away.

A soft run of fixtures awaits if they can get on a roll this week and they could soon be daring to dream again.

La Fiamma kick off at 6pm this Saturday at Salvatore Sciuto Stadium.
