Fresh off their first away win since 2018, La Fiamma return home to Geraldton this Saturday night, facing off against Cracovia SC at Salvatore Sciuto Stadium in round 10 of the State Amateur League.

The Reds currently sit in sixth place on 16 points with four wins, four draws and one loss as the halfway point of the season nears.

A win could see them leapfrog their opponents into third place, just one point off top of the table Perth AFC.

Vice-captain Will Cable said the team are looking to extend their eight-game unbeaten run and push for promotion.

“I think people are starting to see what we’re training for, we’ve got a really good bunch of lads that are committed and young as well, which is always a good thing to have.

“They want to win and they’re excited to win, progress and hopefully at the end of the season gain promotion. The only way to do that is by winning games, if we stay disciplined and look after each other, then we will more than likely do that,” he said.

La Fiamma have shown they can mix it with the best this season, drawing 1-1 with Perth AFC and defeating second placed Baldivis SC 3-1.

“I think that’s what we’re striving for, to keep this momentum going throughout the season. Try to bag a few more wins, slowly climb up the ladder as we go and just keep the group together really, as well. They’re all young, fit and keen,” he said.
