La Fiamma women prepare for the unknown against Woodvale FC

The undefeated La Fiamma women’s team prepares to face the unknown as they play a friendly against Woodvale FC this weekend. La Fiamma have been dominant all season having not lost any of their seven games, scoring 24 goals in that time while conceding just two. It is hard to see anyone catch them in the domestic competition but will face a new challenge against Woodvale FC. Woodvale play in the Hyundai Women Metro North Division 1 currently sitting in equal second position in what will be a first for the women’s side. La Fiamma Sporting Club president Mark Gray said it will be a great test for the women’s side. “They’ve never had anyone come up and play the Geraldton team before,” he said. “It’s a great showcase of talent and it gives a good reference point to see where we would sit if they were ever to try and enter the Perth competition.” The Reds will also be gearing up for their regular season clash against third-placed Abrolhos FC on Monday.
