Labor pressing hard in North West Central

UPDATED: 11.55pm. Labor challenger Shane Hill is giving Nationals incumbent Vince Catania a run for his money in the lower house seat of North West Central as counting of first preferences passed half-way in today’s State election.

With 50.74 per cent of first preferences counted, Mr Catania leads Mr Hill 1823 to 1438.

Pauline Hanson’s One Nation has made a stunning debut, coming in ahead of all minor parties.

The progressive vote has fallen as follows: Julee Wescott (Liberal) 742, Dane Sorensen (Pauline Hanson's One Nation) 545, Carol Green (Green) 304, Sandy Davies (Independent) 151, Adrian D'Cunha (Flux) 57 and Angela Hooper (Micro Business Party) 12.

Counting will resume tomorrow.
