Lotterywest funding supports Geraldton’s Queens Park Theatre and Big Sky Readers and Writers Festival

A total of $84,000 in Lotterywest funding has been invested in continuing to support Geraldton’s Queens Park Theatre and Big Sky Readers and Writers Festival. City of Greater Geraldton mayor Jerry Clune was grateful for Lotterywest’s support for the past 25 years. “Thanks to them, we’re able to bring top-quality performances and events to people of all ages and backgrounds that create lasting memories, attract visitors and foster a sense of pride in our cultural offering,” he said. “This support helps to create opportunities for us to come together which nurtures deeper connections and strengthens our community.” Agricultural Region MLC Sandra Carr said, “Culture and the arts are an important part of a region’s identity and vibrancy. “I am thrilled to see this funding awarded to the City of Greater Geraldton enabling our local identity to continue to develop and thrive.” The funding will support music shows, stage door pass performances and kids’ entertainment at the QPT. Big Sky Readers and Writers Festival just celebrated 20 years and will return in 2026 with another exciting line-up.
