A McDonald’s delivery driver had his wallet and a bag of fast food stolen when he was attacked and robbed in Geraldton on Friday night.

Police said the man was making a delivery in Rangeway about 7.15pm when he was approached by about seven or eight people.

Police allege that while sitting in his car the man was punched several times before his wallet and the food was stolen.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Geraldton Detectives on 9923 4555.

It was one of two reported robberies in Geraldton on Friday.

Just before 3pm, a man and a woman allegedly robbed the Liquorland store at Northgate Shopping Centre.

Police allege the woman took two four-packs of alcohol and the man took a bottle of spirits – and allegedly tried to leave the store without paying.

When confronted by a security guard, the man allegedly swung the bottle toward the guard before leaving the scene.

A 32-year-old Karloo man has since been charged with armed robbery and will face Geraldton Magistrate’s Court today.

A 32-year-old Rangeway woman has been charged with stealing and will appear before the same court on June 29.
