A man allegedly took a jerry can and poured fuel over the floors of a Mount Tarcoola house on Sunday.

Police allege the incident happened after an argument involving a visitor at the Glenview Street address.

Police were called to the house about 2.30pm after reports of a disturbance.

Police and DFES officers evacuated the property until it was deemed safe for occupants to re-enter.

A 28-year-old man has since been charged with committing acts likely to endanger life.

He has been refused bail and will appear before Geraldton Magistrate’s Court at a later date.
