Man allegedly steals bike, threatens victim with dog

A 26-year-old Utakarra man has been refused bail after he allegedly robbed a 13-year-old boy of an off-road motorbike and threatened to set his rottweiler on the boy.

Police will allege the boy was riding the bike in Alexander Park, Utakarra, when the accused approached him and demanded the bike at about 1pm on October 9.

Police said when the boy tried to ride away, the accused allegedly ripped him off the bike from behind and threatened to let his dog attack him , before taking off with the bike.

After arresting a man on Monday, police searched his home and allegedly found cannabis and a smoking implement.

He was charged with one count of robbery, one count of possessing cannabis and one count of possessing drug paraphernalia.

He was refused bail and will face Geraldton Magistrate’s Court at a later date.
