Man arrested after heavily-armed police comb Geraldton

A man was arrested this afternoon after heavily armed police searched a number of houses in Geraldton.

Geraldton Police Station officer-in-charge Brad Bird said police called on officers from Perth’s Tactical Response Group after receiving information the man, aged in his late 30s, posed a “significant risk” to the community.

Senior Sergeant Bird said TRG officers and Geraldton police searched a number of properties, including a house in Charles Street, Bluff Point, before a man was arrested in Spalding for allegedly breaching parole conditions.

Sen Sgt Bird said the man was assisting police with inquiries over other alleged offences.
