Man charged over alleged one-punch incident

A man has been charged after an alleged one-punch incident critically injured another man in Jurien Bay at the weekend.

Geraldton police said the incident happened early yesterday when a 29-year-old Geraldton man allegedly assaulted a 39-year-old Busselton man at the Jurien Bay caravan park.

The 39-year-old was flown to Royal Perth Hospital where his condition was listed as critical.

The 29-year-old man was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, with a possible upgrade to the charge, pending the doctor’s report.

He is due to appear at Geraldton Magistrate’s Court on June 1.
