Man charged over Dongara stabbing

Geraldton police have charged a 55-year-old Dongara man over the stabbing of a 50-year-old woman in her Dongara home earlier this month.

The woman suffered serious injuries in the incident, which happened early on the morning of November 12.

She was flown by the Royal Flying Doctor Service to Royal Perth Hospital for medical treatment.

The man was allegedly found later that day with serious injuries, in a vehicle on an off road track in Dongara.

He was also flown to Royal Perth Hospital for medical treatment.

A police spokeswoman said that the man and woman were known to each other.

The man has been charged with unlawfully attempting to kill.

Police said a bedside hearing would take place today.
