A 41-year-old man has appeared in court after drugs, more than $40,000 in cash, and weapons were found at a White Peak home during a police raid. Police will allege Ian Walter McDougall was found with 19 vials of steroids, $42,250 in cash, weapons, and drug paraphernalia during the June 7 raid. On August 27, Mr McDougall pleaded not guilty in Geraldton Magistrate’s Court to four weapons charges, possession of unlawfully obtained property, and possessing a glass smoking implement with methamphetamine residue. He was not required to enter a plea for five drug possession charges, although his lawyer indicated he may plead guilty. Defence lawyer Nicholas Scerri requested that the case be heard in Perth because he, his client, and the gang crime squad were based there. The request was rejected by Magistrate Chris Miocevich, who said the trial would be held in Geraldton. He will reappear in Geraldton Magistrate’s Court on November 2 for a trial allocation and mention.
