A senior Geraldton police officer facing accusations he touched and encouraged a teenager to have sex with him intends to plead not guilty, according to his lawyer. Mark Kevin Swain allegedly met a 14-year-old girl through the app Sugar Daddy Meet, asked her for sex, and invited the teen and her 14-year-old friend to his home, where he supplied them with alcohol and touched one of them. He is facing three charges of encouraging a child over 13 and under 16 to engage in sexual behaviour, two charges of indecently dealing with a child over 13 and under 16, and two charges of supplying juveniles with alcohol on unlicensed premises. Mr Swain did not appear in Geraldton Magistrates Court on Thursday for a committal mention, but his lawyer Tony Hagar said he intended to plead not guilty to the first five charges on his next court date. The officer, who has been stood down from work in the police force, had moved away from Geraldton, Mr Hagar said. Mr Swain is set to appear in court to enter his pleas on April 20.
