Meunier and Narkle impress on the big stage against the Perth Wildcats for the NBL1 West select team

The Buccaneers’ Malik Meunier, Johny Narkle and Dayle Joseph were all back in Perth over the weekend as part of the NBL1 West select team that faced off against the Perth Wildcats. The team was formed with some of the competition’s biggest stars and best players, with Buccs player Zac Gattorna also selected but was in Sydney and could not play. After only one training session together, the team had to face one of Australia’s best sides in the Wildcats over two preseason games. In the first match the side managed to go up by eight points early with Meunier scoring a driving basket, but the Wildcats managed to quickly turn the game around and the Perth side won 111-93, with Meunier being one of the top scorers for the NBL1 West with 11 points in the loss. The second match was again a tight contest but the Wildcats side still pulled out a win. The all-stars managed to stay competitive, with Narkle scoring 11 points with two assists in the loss. The Buccaneers trio can now stay grounded in Geraldton after coming back-and-forth from Perth for the past three weeks.
