Mid West players selected in the WAFL colts team of the year after impressive season

With the season coming to an end, a number of Mid West players have been recognised as part of the WAFL colts team of the year. Railways young gun Jack Cocking has had a phenomenal season this year at East Fremantle, kicking 44 goals in the 17 games he has played and averaging 11.5 disposals a game. Cocking’s performance earnt him an invite to the WA State combine for the AFL draft, one of just eight players from the West invited. Fellow Railways player Noah Cachard was selected as half forward along with Cocking, after his impactful season around the ground. Cachard has appeared in 16 games for the Demons colts, kicking 12 goals and averaging 18 disposals and five tackles a game. Cachard’s Perth teammate Jake Watson was selected in the squad as a fullback. The 19-year-old from Cervantes played 16 games this season. During his 2023 campaign, Watson has averaged 21 disposals and 2.5 tackles a game, and kicked two goals. The three young stars all have finals games coming up, with Cocking’s Sharks playing Subiaco on Saturday while Cachard and Watson’s Demons will play Claremont on Sunday.
