A professional photographer has given his aerial images of Kalbarri and Shark Bay to an Australian hair and body product company, which is using the pictures to market its wares in Geraldton and around the world.

Sydneysider Remy Gerega said he was approached by Eleven Australia, a brand available in 25 countries, after uploading photos of his WA visit online last year.

He said the company loved the images of Kalbarri and Shark Bay and asked if it could use them as part of a collaboration project.

The 33-year-old said Eleven described his photos of Kalbarri and Shark Bay as ‘incredible” and thought they would look great on packaging.

“Before I went to the Pink Lake, I thought the photos I had seen of it were photoshopped, but no, it really is that pink,” Gerega said.

“I’ve shot all over the world, in Greenland, in Iceland, all over Australia, and I think WA has my absolute favourite landscape.” Gerega flew with Geraldton Air Charter, operated by tourism advocate Wendy Mann, to take the pictures he later gave to Eleven.

Eleven’s products are now sold at two Geraldton salons, according to the Eleven Australia website.

Geraldton salon owner Teresa Italiano said she thought the products would drive visitors to the Mid West and Gascoyne.

“Particularly people from the Eastern States,” she said.

Eleven’s co-creative director Joey Scandizzo said the WA landmark-themed products were sold globally.

“Since we have some of the most iconic natural landscapes, not to mention coastlines, in the world, it was only natural for us to include some of WA’s beauty,” Mr Scandizzo said. “The way Remy has captured it is colourful, bright and just blends in with everything we do.”
