Midweek races: Troy Turner cleans up with four wins at Geraldton Turf Club on Thursday

WA jockey Troy Turner cleaned up during Thursday’s meet at the Geraldton Turf Club, winning four of the seven races.

In just the second meet of the year at the turf club, Turner had a successful day, winning the first two and last two races.

The day began with the maiden race one, with Turner grabbing his first win of the day on Sparkle Corner from Carnarvon, the young gelding paying $8.50.

One of the top tips in the race Miff Muffered Moof came in third place, with Holy Spy coming through late to take second place.

The second maiden race saw Turner back up his performance with a win on the favourite I’m On from Ron Cowl.

Turner wasn’t the only jockey to get success on Thursday, with Natasha Faithfull going back-to-back in races three and four.

The race three win came on the back of Set The Scene from Sean Rains, with Spirit Man and Mystic Love following behind in the small field.

She then came back around on Dark Missile for a victory, with the gelding paying $5 for the race four win.

Race five saw Graham Cox’s Devil Girl grab the win, beating out tough competition in the 1600m run.

Turner came back for the strong finish in race six, picking up another win on pre-race favourite Dream To Me, paying $2.90 for the victory.

Willie Parker’s roughie Arabian Riches came home for a second place finish and was followed by Chix Chatter.

The final race saw Turner bring it home with his fourth win on Glen Cortes gelding The Slap, which paid $7.

Strong runner Tycoon Demon continued his hot streak with a second-place finish in the final race and was followed by Safe Hustle.

The turf club now has a two-week break before coming back on Thursday, February 8 for a mid-week race.
