Midwest Go Kart Club to host State titles as top racers set to hit the track

The action will be coming thick and fast as the State’s best up and coming drivers battle it out in the Mitchell & Brown Triple Crown at Midwest Kart Club this weekend. The top karting divisions in the state will be burning rubber around the Moonyoonooka race track with more than 150 drivers expected. After the State series kicked off in Esperance in February, round two will be held across the weekend from March 9-10. Drivers will be competing across 10 categories including cadet, TaG and KA3 series karts in junior, senior and women’s divisions. The club will also host the first round of the premier KZ2 series, the highest class under the state body of Karting WA. Riders will have a chance to get a feel of what is one of the most technical courses on the calendar with Friday practice before qualifying and racing getting underway on Saturday. Last year saw some incredibly tight racing while the often-hot conditions can make for a tough weekend. Entry for spectators is free while camping is allowed on site (subject to availability), with a newly refurbished canteen operating across the three days. The club thanked all the volunteers who help bring the weekend together. “We could not be more thankful for everyone for their efforts of coming together as a team to make sure we could get this done in time for our open,” it said.
