The old boys will be out in force again on the weekend as Railways Recreation ground hosts round two of the AFL Masters Series on the weekend.

After a successful first round hosted by the Batavia Mariners at Brigades, the Mighty Blues will be the hosts this Saturday with four games scheduled for the afternoon.

The hosts will take on Northampton and Dongara with the Mariners then playing those sides in the afternoon.

Mariners play and organiser of the carnival in March Brad Fehlauer said the carnival was all about promoting physical and mental health.

“It is a league that promotes men’s physical and mental health and an avenue for the guys to be able to still enjoy the sport they love long after retiring from league football and the sense of camaraderie and belonging that sporting club’s offer,” he said.

As always the carnival is not about results with no scores being recorded but there will still be plenty of friendly rivalry between the over-35s stars..

Families are encouraged to come along with a free sausage sizzle being held after 5.30 pm while an Italian dinner will be held for $15 a head with live and silent auctions taking place.

Action will start at 1.30pm with the Blues versus Rams.
