Money scam hits Geraldton Rotary Club

A Geraldton Rotarian’s money was rescued minutes before he was about to deposit $2500 into a fraudulent bank account.

The man spent Tuesday emailing a scammer he thought was fellow Rotary Club of Geraldton Greenough member Viki Fennell.

The impostor convinced him funds were urgently needed and he would be reimbursed.

Ms Fennell said she phoned him just as he was about to pop the cash into the scammer’s account.
