Police arrested and charged a Moora man who allegedly punched an electrical box in Geraldton’s CBD before damaging the car belonging to the person reporting his behaviour to police. Geraldton police officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Chris Martin said on Wednesday about 5.10pm a member of the public observed a 31-year-old man walking down the main street of Geraldton CBD, allegedly punching objects in the vicinity. “A male has been seen walking down Marine Terrace, he has (allegedly) punched an electrical box on the corner,” he said. Sen. Sgt Martin said as the caller raised the alarm to the police, the accused man allegedly damaged the caller’s vehicle. “(He) has climbed on to the front of the caller’s vehicle, breaking the front clear perspex spoiler on the motor vehicle,” he said. A 31-year-old Moora man was arrested at the scene and charged with criminal damage. He was summoned to court on Thursday, December 8.
