More than 100 stallholders expected to line up in Geraldton CBD for annual Christmas on the Terrace

Street entertainers, live music and most of Geraldton’s small businesses will bunch up in one place on Thursday afternoon for the city’s most loved festive event of the year, Christmas on the Terrace. From 5pm, Marine Terrace will become a hub of celebrations, packed with live music, entertainment, food and presents available from local businesses. More than 100 stallholders will join fixed businesses that operate along the main strip, offering Christmas specials that will ensure your shopping list gets ticked off early. This year, a stage and fire trucks will be on display at Edith Cowan Square, and for the first time a Christmas Scavenger Hunt, basketball and mini golf will be on offer. There’s also face painting, pony rides, games, stilt walkers and the opportunity to meet Santa and get a photo on the night. City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Jerry Clune said this year’s celebrations would be the most accessible to date. “Event organisers have gone above and beyond to make sure that everyone in our community can enjoy the festivities,” he said. “There will be a rickshaw supplied by Access to Leisure and Sport (ATLAS) available for those with mobility challenges and free access to mobility equipment that can also be arranged through Coral Coast Mobility.” Mr Clune said supporting Christmas on the Terrace was a great way to support local businesses and retailers, while getting your Christmas shopping done. “With no shortage of entertainment across three stages along Marine Terrace plus a range of delicious food options to satisfy everyone’s taste buds you would be mad to miss this Christmas on the Terrace,” he said. Expect road closures and changes to parking throughout the afternoon to set up the event.
