Is it a bird, is it a plane? No, it’s more than 150 people jumping from a plane for World Skydiving Day.
Held on the second Saturday of July each year, the commemorate day aims to promote the adrenalin-filled sport and encourage people to join in.
Skydivers around the world unite to set a new record of most people skydiving on one day.
The number of skydivers globally has yet to be worked out but Skydive Jurien Bay played their part, facilitating eager jumpers to take a step out of a plane and through the air onto one of Jurien Bay’s beaches.
Skydivers came from across Australia, with a few visitors from as far as Singapore, to take part in the special day.
Last weekend kept Skydive Jurien Bay busy, as 161 jumps took place, over 150 more than last year.
Nation wide, 1076 tandem jumps took off, and 1383 solo parachute jumps.
Last year, 26,718 skydivers took the leap around the world, falling short of the record of 30,351 jumps.
