Mullewa police team nominated for an award.

Mullewa Police Station is a finalist in the 2018 Nine News WA Police Excellence Awards.

This year, the awards received 175 nominations across the individual and team categories.

Mullewa police were short-listed because the station was nominated multiple times by Mullewa residents, who reportedly praised the officers for keeping the community safe in challenging circumstances.

WA Police said the Mullewa team had responded to a number of serious incidents in the past 12 months and resolved them promptly.

Mullewa was also lauded for introducing initiatives to build a more cohesive community.

Award winners will be announced on December 6.
