Mullewa reserves earn spot in grand final after taking a commanding win over the Brigades

Mullewa have earned themselves a spot in the grand final after a convincing win over the Brigades in the Great Northern Football League’s reserves preliminary final. While the game started out as a tight contest, being just a one-point game after the first quarter. the Saints started pulling away with six goals in the second term. The Brigades had been accurate on goal throughout the first half kicking 5.0 (30), but Mullewa had more of the ball which gave them the lead with 9.5 (59) heading into the half. The difference between the teams started to build after half-time, with the Saints’ defensive pressure only allowing one score from the Hawks in the entire third quarter, while Mullewa continued to build their lead. The Brigades started building a comeback in the fourth quarter, but it was too late and Mullewa got the 15.13 (103) to 11.2 (68) win. Mullewa will now face off against Railways in the reserves grand final on Saturday.
