The Great Northern Women’s Football League looks likely to have a full compliment of sides this year, with Mullewa expecting to field their first ever ladies’ side in what would be a historic campaign.

Club secretary Carol Young said a women’s team had been proposed at the recent Mullewa annual general meeting and the club had agreed as long as a committee could be formed, and said registrations had now been made.

“They’ve put the team together and they’ve got 30 names on a piece of paper,” she said.

“They’ve got their committee sorted, it’s looking good.”

“They’ve come up with it all.

“At this stage, everything’s looking good.”

President Colin Cox confirmed the league had been informed of the plan, and had sent the club documentation to nominate the team.
