Riding for the Disabled Association of Western Australia has changed its name to HorsePower Australia.

In a statement, the Association said the term “disabled” was no longer appropriate.

They said while children with physical disabilities were traditionally their main market, HorsePower now caters for physically and intellectually disabled people from one year to 80.

It also helps youth at risk and people with mental health conditions.

HorsePower Australia has 14 centres in WA, including one in Geraldton.
