Local businesses and the people who help them thrive behind the scenes were celebrated under starry skies at the 27th Mid West Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Excellence Awards.

The glamorous event on Saturday, November 25 was held in a clear marquee at Geraldton Turf Club, with the theme A Night at the Races.

The major winners included Finlay’s Kalbarri (Business of the Year), D’Guy Charters (People’s Choice), Incite Security (Judge’s Choice) and Michelle Marshall from Greenough Cafe (excellence in customer service hospitality and overall).

MWCCI CEO Joanne Fabling said planning for the awards was a six-month process, with more than 400 nominations received, resulting in 110 submissions across 17 categories.

Ms Fabling thanked all the sponsors for again bringing this event to life.

“In the face of ongoing challenges, including skills and housing shortages and rising costs, Saturday night’s sold-out event served as a collective affirmation of the resilience and determination of Mid West businesses,” she said.

“It was an evening where we set aside our daily hurdles to revel in the collective achievements of our community.”
