No one hurt in suspicious house fire

A house fire early this morning on Eastern Road has been labelled suspicious by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services.

The house, located near the Waldeck Street roundabout, caught fire about 12.30am.

One resident was reportedly inside the house but left before the fire took hold.

Three crews from the Fire and Rescue Service and two crews from the Geraldton Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service attended the blaze, which was extinguished just before 1am.

A DFES spokeswoman said Western Power had visited the house and police were now managing the site.

No injuries were reported.

The damage bill is not yet known.
