Northampton’s Harry Taylor recognised after being inducted into Geelong Cats hall of fame

Northampton’s very own Harry Taylor has notched another achievement under his impressive belt after being inducted into the Geelong Football Club hall of fame last week. The Geelong Cats, where Taylor spent the entirety of his 13-year AFL career, held their hall of fame dinner last week to recognise a bunch of club icons. Among those inducted into the hall of fame were Taylor, former teammate Travis Varcoe and coach Chris Scott. The hall of fame is one of the highest honours that the Geelong club has to recognise players or members who have left an impact. Taylor now joins the group of 121 members in the Cats’ Hall of Fame. During his time with Geelong, Taylor played 280 games over 2008-2020, winning two premierships in 2009 and 2011 and was a two-time All Australian. Since retiring he came back home to Geraldton where he had been playing for his boyhood club Northampton, where he led the league in goals last year and helped the Rams win the flag. The 38-year old has remained active in the AFL world, most recently joining the West Coast Eagles as a leadership consultant.
