At any rate, Geraldton police weren’t buying self-defence as an excuse when a man on his way to McDonald’s today was allegedly found with a can of pepper spray.

The incident happened about 2.50am on North West Coastal Highway at Webberton.

A 38-year-old Spalding man has been charged with carrying or possessing a prohibited weapon.

Earlier, at 1.50am, police allegedly found knuckle dusters and methamphetamine when they searched a car in Lawley Street, Spalding.

The driver, a 25-year-old Utakarra man, was charged with carrying or possessing a prohibited weapon.

The passenger, a 21-year-old Kalgoorlie man, has been charged with possession of a prohibited drug after police allegedly found three clipseal bags containing less than a gram of methamphetamine.
