Fresh new additions, including rollerskating workshops, bubble soccer, an archery skirmish and kindness rock painting, feature in the City of Greater Geraldton’s spring school holiday line-up.

The City’s school holiday program, running for more than five years, have been reinvigorated by some new options to entertain children over the school holiday break.

The City issued a call-out to the community last month for expressions of interest to be included in the program.

New additions include rollerskating workshops with Geraldton Roller Derby, yoga for two with Mindful Body Gero, calligraphy classes with Narelle Beaver, kindness rock painting with Centacare and an archery skirmish and bubble soccer with Archery Skirmish Perth.

Popular activities such as skate skills clinics, Dungeons and Dragons roleplaying sessions, sunset yoga and wheelchair basketball return in the school holiday offerings.

Parents are encouraged to grab a hard copy of the City guide or head to the council’s website for information about even more events happening throughout Greater Geraldton during the school holidays.

Registrations for many of these events are essential via Eventbrite and details can be found on the City’s website.

The school holiday program coincides with the Big Sky Readers and Writers Festival, which will run from Thursday, September 28 to Sunday, October 1.

The festival will include kid-friendly events such as How Do We Create Art With Words? with Kristen Hogue, Making Visual Stories with graphic novelist Aśka and Twilight Storytime for the little ones.
