Paul Christmass and Cheryl Samborski crowned Geraldton croquet doubles champions

Paul Christmass can add another Geraldton croquet title to his growing collection after he and his doubles partner Cheryl Samborski dominated the club’s 12+ tournament last month. Held on February 18-19, the tournament saw 10 pairs fight it out for the title across nine games. However, there was no one who could stop club champion Christmass and partner Samborski as they won all nine games to finish with a perfect record and a +29 net hoop difference. Their closest match came against the pairing of Paul Dodson and Mary Van de Wyngaard in a 7-6 game but they were not challenged outside of that match. Outside of their domination, the competition was close with three teams tying for second place with six wins a piece. Peter Clift and Charley MacSween and Wendy McDonald and Jan MacSween were also tied on net hoops with the result coming down to the result of the game between the pairs. Clift and MacSween were awarded second place for their 7-4 result over the pair with McDonald and MacSween settling for third.
