Petrol prices continue to rise in the Mid West as fuel excise end draws near

Those in the Mid West are feeling the pinch at the bowser yet again as prices continue to rise. The Federal Government’s temporary cut to the fuel excise ends on September 29, triggering more fears about how much higher prices will go beyond that point. Australian motorists will again start paying 44¢ a litre fuel excise after the six-month halving by the former Federal Government comes to an end. The average price of unleaded petrol in the Mid West has risen from 208cpl in June to 215cpl in July, putting more pressure on those struggling to make ends meet. On Monday, the highest ULP price was 215.9¢ a litre at Smart Pure Convenience on Flores Road, Wonthella while the cheapest was 207.5¢ a litre at United Rangeway. The median price of unleaded petrol was 210.9¢ a litre at BP Wonthella Service Station. The bowser pain comes after crude oil prices rose amid further disruptions to supply.
