Pi’s and Marlins face off in top-of-the-table clash as Rams look for redemption

It could be a pivotal weekend for will earn the favourite’s tag in the Geraldton Softball Association.
Women’s Marlins take on Pi’s with both teams on top and looking to widen that gap between to the rest of the field.
Pis have been in great form with Janelle Phillips and Darrel Dhu their best players.
Marlins are coming off a big 7-0 win against Rams, and they’ll be confident with Taryn Purcell pitching a blinder allowing three hits in her previous game.
Pi’s coach David Sutton said he understood that the season was far from over and the team needed to stay switched on.
“After coming away with a gritty comeback win last week, we will need to be switched on right from the start to be competitive against the talented Marlins team,” he said.
The Rams will be looking to put the 7-0 defeat behind them against Suiside, who had a bye last round with the Rams looking to their experienced outfielders to inject some confidence back into the team.
Men’s division 1 Suiside have their double-header with Martians first up. The Martians will want top spot back after losing to Rams the week before but will have to do it without Kurt Mead, who is injured and will be missed until after Christmas in a big blow to the side.
Suiside have gained back Sean Thompson from holidays and will try their hardest to climb up the ladder.
Coach Dylan Percy said he was confident in his young side’s ability and grit.
“We’re feeling confident and have had a good build-up and the boys are up for the challenge,” Percy said.
Rams take on Suiside in the second game with youth a big part of the Rams’ line-up and will aim for keeping top spot if Dean Pascoe and Paul Valenti can remain firing on all cylinders.
