Major Crash detectives want to speak to anyone who witnessed a head-on crash between two cars in Bookara yesterday afternoon that claimed the lives of two women.

Detectives say a silver Toyota Camry sedan travelling north on the Brand Highway near Butcher Road about 2.50pm collided with a white Toyota Land Cruiser towing a trailer travelling south.

The driver of the Camry, a 53-year-old man from Landsdale, was taken to Geraldton Hospital in critical condition.

The two female passengers from the Camry, aged 54 and 59, died at the scene.

The driver of the LandCruiser, a 42-year-old man from Carine, was also taken to Geraldton Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
