In a bizarre incident on Friday, Dongara police charged a Clarkson man aged in his 20s with various offences, following reports he was jumping on the roof of his car with no pants on.

A truck driver alerted officers to the man’s strange behaviour before they intercepted him on Brand Highway about 1pm.

Officers allegedly had to remove the man from his vehicle after he refused to comply with their orders.

After searching his vehicle, a bong was allegedly found.

A Dongara police spokesman said the man was wanted in relation to numerous incidents in which it is alleged he stole petrol from Perth and Geraldton service stations.

He said the man, who was allegedly extremely agitated and behaving erratically, claimed he had been trying to close his bonnet.

He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of stealing in relation to the alleged Geraldton theft.

He will face court in October.
