Police canine Ghost foils alleged scooter theft
Geraldton police dog Ghost has again proven his worth, helping officers find an alleged thief just minutes after a motor scooter was reported stolen.
Police were alerted to the alleged theft on Ainsworth Street about 1.30am on Friday.
Officers arrived on the scene within minutes and deployed Ghost to track the scent of two suspects.
A short time later a 15-year-old boy was found hiding in bushes at nearby Allendale Primary School.
A police spokeswoman said it was his first offence and he received a juvenile caution.
“He complied with dog team instructions and was taken into custody without incident,” she said.
She said the other suspect was yet to be found.
