Police conduct random vehicle stop and seize three ounces of cannabis from 36-year-old known to police

A Geraldton man is due to face court after police conducted a random stop of an unregistered vehicle and allegedly discovered a quantity of cannabis large enough to be used to sell or supply. Police allege in the early hours of Tuesday morning last week, a black Toyota was travelling in the Wonthella area. Acting Officer in Charge Sen Sgt Adrian Geary said police patrolling the area flagged the unregistered car and discovered the driver was a 36 year old man known to police. “Police have gone further and searched the car and inside they located three ounces of cannabis,” Sen Sgt Geary alleged. The man was charged with possession of cannabis with intent to sell or supply, possessing drug paraphernalia, possessing a weapon, driving an unlicensed vehicle and driving with an expired licence. He is due to appear at Geraldton Magistrates Court on August 18.
