Geraldton Police have appealed information regarding an alleged attempted sexual assault in Rangeway last night.

They have alleged between 11:00pm last night and 1:30am this morninga 13-year-old girl was walking in the grassed area between Banksia Street, St John’s Catholic Church and Utakarra Road when she was approached by an unknown male person.

Geraldton Detectives said the suspect assaulted her, grabbing her by her shoulders, while the victim fought against the male and escaped before contacting police.

He was wearing a black hooded jacket with an Adidas logo on the unknown side of jacket’s upper breast, faded black jeans and checked black and white shoes resembling the ‘Vans’ brand style.
